» TOASTMASTERS IN IRELAND «

22/09/2015

Toastmasters is an international organisation and a highlight of travelling is being able to check out the local TM clubs.  Past-president Alex Bormans travelled to Ireland in September and October, and popped into the Ennis Toastmasters Club on two occasions.  During the first visit the club was holding its Humorous & Table Topics speech contests and there were excellent speeches by the members.  Ennis Toastmasters Club recently celebrated its 40th anniversary and is a strong club with a committment to the development of its members, and a welcoming face for visitors.  If you’re in County Clare do drop by to the Temple Gate hotel in Ennis and enjoy a Toastmaster meeting!

Ennis Toastmasters September 2015Left – the club’s VPE Cora, second from left the VPM Nicola, second from right, the club’s President Ann-Marie.

The 2014/2015 Toastmasters year was the end-of-the-line for Area 48, and ushers in the exciting new Area 32 for 2015/2016, headed by Area Director Alex Bormans.

Ashfield Toastmasters Club – along with fellow clubs Sydney Sunday Morning, Exodus, Canterbury-Hurlstone Park RSL, and Sydney Travel –  now comprise Area 32, and leave the Lachlan Division (…so many great memories…) to join the ever-vibrant Phillip Division, headed by Division Director Susan Newton.

» WHAT A RECORD! «

25/06/2015

Congratulations to all Ashfield Toastmasters Club members for achieving 10 out of 10 goals in the Distinguished Club Program:

A President’s Distinguished Club for the 9th year in a row, and continuing an unbroken record.

The final goal was achieved at the June 25th meeting when Peter Dixon completed another CC with his speech about Macular Degeneration.   Thanks Peter for being so committed and getting us over the line!
